Usually, when a commuter boards a Metro Line bus in Los Angeles, he (or she) encounters a slug behind the wheel with all the personality of a worm.

It’s a tough job interacting with the public on a daily basis in the mean streets of the city.
Today, when locals scrambled in the door of a bus on Route 181 (from Glendale to Hollywood) in search of a coveted seat, they were pleasantly surprised!
An African-American (female) driver was offering up inviting-looking candy canes gratis to her passengers from a basket decorated in the festive yuletide tradition.
Imagine that!
The down-to-earth Metro slave-driver gets a nod for employee of the year!
Just maybe, the rest of us sorry souls, should try to find some special way to engage in a little random act of gifting during the holiday season, too (if only to bring a little good cheer or a smile to a face).
