Julian Ayrs Celebrity News...Hillary "faking it" to avoid probe? Barack Obama most-admired man! Kathy Rigby hits boards with "Peter Pan"! J.R. Ewing funeral!

Moneymaker a "fashion" disaster!

Mary Martin magical in "Peter Pan"

Hillary Clinton…in spite of the fact a handful of politicians are accusing the former 1st Lady of trying to stall a probe by a Congressional Committee over lapses in State Department security, slick Willy’s significant other remains popular with American voters. A Gallup poll just named Mrs.Clinton the most admired woman of the past year (2012). When it comes to side-stepping delicate issues, the Secretary of State is the best at it. In a previous scandal over “missing” documents (which were later produced with her finger prints on the container) Hillary was always quick to respond to questions she was anxious to discuss. But, when a response may have appeared to be “troublesome”, she was usually inclined to beg off. “I really can’t recall,” she’d utter up with her best poker face. Bottom line? Mrs. Clinton is an attorney first and foremost.

Barack Obama…while we’re on the subject of Americans most-admired, it should be noted that the President was the top of the list in the same poll this week. Uh-huh! In spite of a fiscal cliff looming on the horizon, Mr. Obama was named most-admired man. Too bad Barack can’t run a third time because – just betcha – he’d have all his loyal followers chanting "four more years"!

Kathy Rigby…will be alighting on the stage at the historic Pantages theatre January 15th - in a production of Peter Pan - to run through January 27th. Of course, legendary Mary Martin made the fantasy character famous to theatre audiences decades ago. I have fond memories of Larry Hagman’s real-life mother. I was on the set of the TV Movie – "Valentine" – in which Martin was co-starring opposite Jack Albertson. I was standing on the sidelines in awe - trying to drum up some way to say hello without being intrusive – when the graceful lady strolled up to me and politely noted that she loved my hair! Needless to say, I was blown away!

J.R. Ewing…while we’re on the subject of Mary Martin, it would be remiss of me not to mention that “Dallas” has announced that the “arrangements” for the funeral for Larry Hagman’s diabolical TV character are underway. Expect a plot twist early in the New Year, and a graveside gathering by mid-March, folks!

Madonna…looks like the “Material Girl” is still raking in the big bucks and rustling up accolades (and sales records) in the process. Word from the Pollstar camp is that Madonna’s MDNA tour (which touched down in 67 cities for 88 live stage performances) was the hit moneymaker on the concert circuit this year (to the tune of $300 million). Bruce Springsteen trailed behind in 2nd place – proving, of course – he’s not exactly the "boss"!

Never throw pearls before swine, Hillary!
