Last night I trotted over to Gold’s Gym for a work-out when an eerie coincidence unfolded in the men’s changing room.
After I packed in my exercise regimen for the evening, I plunked myself down on a bench, where I proceeded to open my locker and reach for my street clothes.
Suddenly, I caught sight of an object glittering in the light faintly to the left of me.
When I turned my head to check out the distraction, I suddenly spotted a small silver object on the bench next to my left leg.
When I plucked it up – and examined it closely – I was taken aback.
The silver-colored piece of metal was a miniature handgun about the size of a “charm” which people often use to decorate a wrist bracelet.
A shiver went up and down my spine for good reason.
Two days ago – in the wake of the tragedy in Connecticut – I penned an article on the subject of gun control drives springing up around Southern California.

How strange that the gun should end up by my side last evening out-of-the-blue like that, eh?
