Fashion...stylish accessories to don in a cold snap!

If you were out-and-about last evening – like I was – you probably shivered in the frigid night air.

In fact, it was so darn nippy that I passed on a screening of “The Guilt Trip” (Streisand’s new flick) at the AMC in Century City, so I could dash indoors and snuggle up by the homefires instead (according to a movie reviewer in the morning paper, I didn’t miss much. Sorry, Babs!).

Actually, there is an upside to the cold snap that swept in the night-before-last, and chilled West Coast residents to the bone.

Locals have a golden opportunity to spark up their wardrobes with an eye-catching fashion accessory or two to draw attention to their own signature style!

For example, at the crack-of-dawn this morning, I tossed on a luxurious camel-colored cashmere scarf around my neck as I strode out the front door.
The exquisite accessory turned heads!

Fashionistas around town will probably be taking a cue from the weather, too.

If the winter blast continues over the next few days, I expect they'll be donning butter-soft leather gloves, a colorful assortment of wool caps or slouchy designer ones, beautifully-crafted outer-flannels, and what-have-you.

Today, I'll probably snap up a jazzy sweater, when I'm out finishing up my Christmas shopping down on Melrose.

I may even splurge on an elegant floor-length topcoat with a pair of rugged boots to match.

When it comes to accessorizing, here are a few fashion “do’s” and “don’t” that you’d be wise to follow if you don't won't to end up on my worst-dressed list, folks.

*Mix-and-match colors so they're agreeable to the eye
*Layer ensemble pieces to create your own signature look
*Avoid clashing patterns that jar the fashion sensibilities

Wear the ensembles in good health, eh?

Happy Holidays!
