In spite of it being a Tuesday Night, locals turned out in droves to attend a whiskey-tasting soiree tossed by MACALLAN distillery at The Book Bindery on Washington Boulevard in Culver City.
No wonder!
The chic par-tay - where they served up scrumptious finger food (pork sliders, ginger chicken, caramelized onion treats) and vintage single malt whiskey on the house - was the best ticket in town!
At approximately 6 p.m. - in fact - guests patiently queued up on the busy street as smartly-attired servers used state-of-the-art gadgets to verify their RSVP's (which were submitted online).
After mixing-and-mingling for about an hour, the happy campers were led into the main ballroom, where they were treated to at least four brands of whiskey and a historical account of the distillery's humble beginnings by virtue of a well-crafted video presentation.
The highlight of the night?
A dram of MACALLAN'S No. 18!
When the reps ushered us out the side door later, I couldn't help but notice that a second round of guests were waiting in the street for another presentation to commence once the rest of us stumbled off howling at the moon!
If you want to catch one of the MACALLAN whiskey-tasting events, check out their website for upcoming presentations.
Skol!
