Barbra Streisand…was well-received at a Hollywood Bowl concert on Friday night (her first back on stage in that delicious venue since 1967) which one local LA TIMES critic referred to as "a chance to spend quality time with a legend". But, bottom line, her pipes got a beating! The reviewer reported that “Bab's” upper register was mostly off limits and that the breathy coloratura styling that has given her songs their distinctive imprimatur over the years was a vestige of its former self. Ouch! At one point, when son Jason hopped up on to stage to warble a duet with the celebrated songbird, fans joked that Streisand suddenly transformed into a doting Jewish MaMa! When the well-known politico also chatted about politics at the tail-end of her outdoor show, spies inform me that even die-hard fans scrambled for the exits! And, that’s the way it was, folks!

Ben Affleck…has been garnering rave reviews for his directorial skills in ARGO. Unfortunately, it looks like he’ll be aced out for the OSCAR because of Steven Spielberg’s latest effort “Lincoln”. Maybe next year, Ben!
Christina Aguilera…apparently trots around town sans panties! A posse of valet parkers and UPS drivers can’t wait ‘til the songbird drops her keys on the pavement so they can get a gander at what lies beneath her fashion disasters.
