Locals into wild outrageous drag are probably schlepping around town today, scouring the trendy thrift shops for ubiquitous plumage to don on October 7th, when they trot downtown to catch the “Best in Drag Show” which kicks-off at the Orpheum.
The high-profile fundraiser orchestrated by the competent generous staff at Aid for AIDS is expected to draw huge crowds again this year.
Since the popular event was first launched in 2003, the organization has managed to rustle up $2.2 million in donations!
A parade of Drag Stars –with catchy names such as Tipsy Rose Lee, Tiny Bubbles, and Lotta Slots (sluts???) – are sure to delight as usual.
Sexy Harry Hamlin (LA LAW / Making Love) and swim great Greg Louganis are co-hosting alongside Kathy Griffen who is first up (the opening act).
