Make-up...Southern Korean Men clamor for beauty products! Actor Lee Byung-hun a flower man?

On the heels of my coverage of Lee Byung-hun's splashy appearance at the red carpet premiere of "Masquerade" at LACMA Friday night, newswires around the globe began reporting that South Korean Men are the most-likely to clamor for beauty products.

In fact, statistics have revealed that sales for a myriad of skin and hair products have peaked in that corner of the globe - so much so - that South Korea has the distinction of being the number one consumer in that highly-specialized market.

"Make-up boosts my confidence," one young male fessed up recently when he was quizzed on a busy city street.

In a country where mandatory two-year military service is required of all young males, some find the trend somewhat surprising, you betcha.

"There's nothing feminine about it," quipped another smartly-turned-out gent when approached for his opinion on the touchy issue.

Maybe that's why Lee Byung-hun had no qualms about me video-taping his handler giving him a quick once-over just off-the-carpet on the sidelines before he trotted down the runway to greet his fans and the frenzied paparazzi.

According to my sources, South Koreans refer to these peacocks as the "flower" men.
Fragrant and desirable?

By the way, inquiring minds want to know, too.

Will the trend catch on here in the streets of New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles?

News at 11!
