Bright and early at the crack-of-dawn today, protesters from local 11 began picketing the ritzy W Hotel in Hollywood on the walk-of-fame.
How rude!
The rag-tag band of Hotel employees waved signs and chanted loudly to decry the hiring of non-union workers among the ranks.
Obviously, consumers are keenly aware that a work force totally manned by skilled union employees is going to drive up the costs of accommodation and other pleasure pursuits (dining, sipping cocktails at the house bar, room service) as well.
No wonder tourists cast a blind eye as they headed out the lobby to take in the sights around the City of Angels without offering up any sympathy.
