Diesel's Menswear a show-stopper!

Fashionistas descended in droves on the Beverly Center Thursday night to attend Macy’s 4th Annual “Fashion’s Night Out”.
At the top of the show, Mayor Villaraigosa was wildly applauded as he welcomed the upbeat stylish crowd (packed-in excitedly four-deep at the rail) by way of a slick video-taped presentation in which he, essentially, urged ‘em to shop ‘til they dropped.
But, it was the appearance of a couple of popular cast members of the successful TV Show - “Pretty Little Liars" – that garnered the largest roar from the crowd when they alighted on the stage to introduce the night’s eclectic festivities.
Indeed!
High energy fashion shows were unveiled – and well-received – by popular designers such as True Religion, Brand Jeans, Traffic, Diesel, J. Lindeberg, and – of course, Bloomingdale’s.
Later, a crush of shoppers were wowed by a fall preview of the Mandi Line Collection (featuring designs by Guess, Michael Kors, Jessica Simpson, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bar III, to name a few) in-store at Macy’s a hop-and-a-skip-away as they sipped on Skinny Girl Margarita's on-the-house!
Meanwhile, it should be noted that quite a few of the retailers in the Beverly Center also jumped on-the-band-wagon and offered up everything from free bubbly, to snack foods, and surprise specialty gifts (and lots of great discounts for products!).
The West Coast Editor of Vogue – Lisa Love – also put in a special appearance at the Maybelline New York Color Studio to the delight of guests who took advantage of free make-overs, style tips, and what-have-you.
Not everyone was in the best of spirits, though.
At the Michael Kors shop, for instance, a couple of the salespeople were a bit snotty to shoppers. One young Asian gal mixing up cocktails for guests seemed a bit put-out to be there, for example. Also, a snippy male clerk rubbed some folks the wrong way when he asked them to refrain from video-taping their shopping experience while in the store (without giving any specifics as to why).
Oh, well!
Everywhere ‘ya go, there are bound to be spoil sports, eh?
I should point out that Melrose Avenue got into the fashion action, too!
Shoppers were all a-buzz when they heard that the specialty shops on one of the trendiest streets on the West Coast was also celebrating Fashion's Night Out.
So, attendees down on Beverly Boulevard were inclined to dash over to the chic strip once the festivities there started to slow down a tad.
I was about half-way down the avenue before I suddenly became too pooped (and tipsy) to participate any further.
It had been a long – fun-filled night – you betcha!
It was time to head home and hit the sack.
‘Til next year!
P.S. My fashion runway videos should be up tomorrow on YouTube!
